Paul and Penny met at medical school in the last century while they were studying medicine together.

It was love at first sight on Penny's side, Paul however took a little longer! We married a couple of years later and have watched our family grow with three wonderful boys; two are at Uni while the youngest is left at home with the parents.

Over the years we have moved from Woodford up the M11 to Cambridge, then taking an easterly direction along the A14 to Bury St Edmunds and now onto Ipswich.

For Penny this is a bit like coming home. She has all sorts of family birth, marriage and death certificates from Ipswich dating from the 1800s. Her grandparents lived in Westerfield for many years and she has fond memories of working at Crane's of Nacton one long summer.

Paul has grown to love Suffolk having been a Londoner for much of his life. He has always had a love for the outdoors, sailing, camping, skiing, hiking and surviving off the land, not quite Ray Mears yet! He loves to walk Winston, the family Dalmatian, who keeps him in contact with the outdoors.

Penny works as part time GP within the community and she loves not only the care she can give to patients but also the opportunity to train junior doctors, helping them to reach their full potential. Paul works part time for the church but also trained as a GP and continues in his role in facilitating the training of medical students who visit Ipswich from UEA Norwich.

As you can probably guess we are passionate about people, enabling them to develop a rich faith within a secure and safe environment, allowing them to explore the life God has for them. How to 'live life and live it to the full' is often be heard within our conversations.

Though we have loved Jesus for many years it was in Bury St Edmunds that we fell into the Vineyard Church an amazing of our journey. Over the years we have been seeking God to try and discover what he has in store for us and have come to a firm understanding that it is to move to Ipswich to start Ipswich Vineyard Church.
